Thank you for the detailed update. I can just see numbers from here. I did get confirmation that Kat's mom got her first jab, so that's some progress. Stay safe.

Here is the south, its very concerning. For foreigners here in Songkhla getting vaccinated is like a lucky dip. Slots for small numbers at locations that are hard to know about. There is talk of opening the border with Malaysia, where Covid is out of control. I dont think there will be any rush of Malaysians. The Deep South has been neglected as far as vaccinations go. There are lots of rules that constantly change, that have little protection against contracting Covid. So as a foreigner living in Southern Thailand, I feel abandoned while the government is in search of quality tourists. I myself am looking for other places where foreigners are treated equally with the local population on public health issues. Just for personal safety.

As a long-time expat here I don't find it in the least bit offensive that they want "quality tourists." I would advocate a per-diem tourist fee like other countries such as Bhutan to limit the numbers to more sustainable levels. I think 40+ million visitors a year is way too many for the system to handle (seen the long queues at CW?) and the effects on the environment.
